Meet your therapist.
Dr. Nelly Seo can help you find your way, wherever life takes you.
Do you feel like something is missing — from your life, or from therapy itself — but you can't quite name what it is? Have you ever been told to "sit with your feelings," nodded along, and privately wondered what that actually means? If so, you're not alone — some things cannot be resolved through insight alone; they need to be felt, and worked through in the body, alongside the mind.
What’s Most Important to me
-
I'm trained in psychodynamic and relational theory, and I believe the relationship itself is part of the healing — not just a container for it.
Alongside that, I bring advanced training in Somatic Experiencing, and training in EMDR, and Internal Family Systems, because feelings don't only live in your thoughts — they live in your body too.
Together, we can actually learn what it means for you and your body to “sit with feelings.”
-
We'll make real sense of your history, your patterns, your relationships — while also building your capacity to feel difficult things without being overwhelmed by them.
That capacity is what gives you more choice in how you respond instead of react, more room to breathe before you act, and more agency in how you show up in your life.
-
I work especially closely with people carrying complex or relational trauma, often after years of skills-based approaches that helped them cope but didn't quite reach what was underneath. In particular, I specialize in working with those who identify as BIPOC and LGBTQIA+.
I believe facets of your identity — race, gender, sexual orientation, and more — shape your lived experience, and they shape our work together too.
I welcome identity exploration with all my clients- however those parts of you show up in the room, there's space for them here.
